I would be interested in that kind of challenge as well. I started my blog a few days ago and have not even submitted it to 45n5 yet (although that is how I found you). We should organize a “new” blog challenge. Could be fun!

I agree that webmaster/internet marketing related fields don’t do so well with pay-per-click advertising profit models because of the fact those people know what the ads are there for, and also know that behind the ad is someone selling something…

This is why I think webmaster/internet marketing niche websites should focus on building up good content, traffic, and then selling adspace and making money from product sales and affiliate product sales.

I tried the online survey thing way back when I was really new to making money online, because it was all over the place back then. I found it very, very difficult and time consuming to keep at it because most surveys took a lot of time, and then at the end enter you into a drawing to get a prize or something.

I rarely found any surveys that would give cash prizes, and those were heavily screened and usually maxed out with participants as soon as they came up.

I think one could put their time into something else online and get a much better return on investment.

When I first ran across his contest, I did not really read the details so much. I saw what he was doing to signup affiliates, and wondered who would bite. About an hour after leaving his site it really struck me how successful this might be for him. It might cost him a few bucks up front, but if he gets even a couple very successful affiliates out of this, he will just add another nice layer to his passive income stream.
